Bungoma County Goes Digital With New App

Bungoma County has signed a memorandum of understanding with telecommunication giant Safaricom to digitize its services through ‘My County App’.

The co-creation and development of sustainable digital solutions among the 14 Counties from the Lake Region Economic Block is part of Safaricom’s led technology initiative to enable Counties to digitize their services. 

Speaking during the signing of MOU in Kisii County, Governor Kenneth Lusaka hailed the collaboration between Safaricom and LREB Counties terming it an effective tool towards the realization of the development agenda through digital platforms

“The world has gone digital. We embrace the digital future with open arms. We are glad to be among the LREB Counties to benefit from this platform”, He Said. 

Lusaka noted that the partnership with Safaricom will streamline vital County services and increase visibility to revenue collection and performance that has been corrupted. 

Lusaka who is also the LREB Vice Chair has urged county governments to embrace digitalization to improve the livelihoods of residents and further assure that the program will be fully supported. 

Under the partnership, Safaricom will develop and support the” My Bungoma App” as part of the” My Bungoma” hub that will provide digital services and citizen engagement. 

The platform will ease public access to County services as well as improve the livelihoods of residents through co-creation to thrive in the digital economy.
