Bungoma Senator Elect, Wakoli, to be Sworn In on Friday.

Wakoli won the race with 66,032 votes against Mwambu Mabonga of UDA who got 45,901 votes while Wafula Wamunyinyi of DAP-K managed 20,519 votes.

The senate speaker has informed members of the public that Senator-elect David Wakoli Wafula of Bungoma County will be sworn in on Friday, December 30, 2022.

The Senate Speaker Amason Kingi gazetted December 30 for the sitting on Wednesday.

Kingi said that according to Standing Order 33(5) of the Senate Standing Orders, the business specified in the notice shall be the only business before the Senate during the Special Sitting.

Wakoli of Ford Kenya party was declared winner of the Bungoma senate seat on December 9.

The by-election was conducted on December 8.

The race had attracted 11 contestants.
