Bungoma: Two Die By Suicide In Separate Incidents

Two people from Bungoma County are reported to have died by suicide.

One of the victims, a second-year electrical and electronics diploma male student at the Sang’alo Institute and Technology was found dead in his rented two-bedroom house on Thursday morning.

According to the police report, the deceased was last seen Monday night before being discovered by his fellow students.

A suicide note which indicated a love triangle was recovered at the scene.

In another incident, a 26-year-old woman was found dead at her family’s homestead in Luoya village.

The deceased, who had been living in Nairobi, is said to have snuck into their homestead Wednesday night before taking her own life in the compound.

Her body was discovered by her mother who was going to milk their cow on Thursday morning.

“From the information we received from her family, it is said that the victim tried committing suicide three times earlier,” Bungoma county deputy police commander Joseph Lokomom said.

He added that no suicide note was left, and the police have launched a probe into the incident.

Both bodies have been moved to Bungoma County referral hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
