Leaders want security agencies to collaborate closely with stakeholders to address the situation effectively.

Speaking at a Busia hotel during a meeting with top county security chiefs led by local County Commissioner Sam Ojwang, religious leaders chastised the committee for failing to engage relevant parties in order to collectively secure the county.

Ojwang stated that all citizens must collaborate with security units to reduce insecurity.

He urged the public to share information that will aid in the capture of thugs in high-risk areas such as Nambale, Malaba, and Matayos in Busia County.

The county commissioner stated that insecurity impedes the development of any town because it discourages investors, raising the cost of living.
