Students studying business courses at the University of Nairobi are set to benefit from an online business course.
The course shall be offered by European Business University following a partnership program between the two institutions of higher learning.
Eldoret University Vice Chancellor Prof. Teressa Akenga said they were ready for a public-private partnership with EBU.
EBU does most of its learning programs through online and the partnership is expected to have many benefits for the Eldoret University which is also pursuing the same direction.
“Having considered the proposal I propose that we move to the stage of Writing/Singing a Memorandum of Understanding with all the details and obligations of both Universities clearly stated,,” said the VC.
The proposal between the two institutions will involve the European University to provide Co- lecture opportunities, full support of course content, and Jointly issue completion proposals.
There will also be the component of virtual learning environment platform that shall be offered by the EBU and enrol students in the orientation and technology training and course chosen.
The VC said there shall be no Fee from EBU for the first full year of operation but only administration operating costs.
The European Business University under the partnership proposals will also seek the usage of University of Eldoret’s logo, symbols and name in promoting its certificate program as an affiliate partner.
The partnership proposal of EBU support and implementation also includes a review of the EBU blockchain and data science curriculum for integration, the creation of an independent Moodle platform for integration together with the creation of the pilot University of Eldoret University courses.
Further, the EBU shall also launch a select pilot course in artificial intelligence with the University of Eldoret content integration.
“Transfer of created resources to ‘University of Eldoret server and platform within a specified timeframe,’ he said.
Currently, the European Business University offers scholarships to students globally with a record of more than 15,000 students majority from the African continent among them Kenya.
