Businessman accused of leaking private data warned against issuing threats

A Nairobi Court has warned businessman Hatim Mohammed Tahir accused of disclosing personal data to a third party against interfering with the case during his trial.

The orders were issued by Magistrate Rose Ndombi after the complainant in the matter, Lauren Rose Friedman, through her lawyer Danstan Omari said that she has allegedly received threats from the accused person.

According to Advocate Omari, the complaint has received numerous threats in an attempt to interfere with the administration of justice.

Adv Omari threatened to make an application with the prosecution to move Court to cancel the bond terms granted to the accused person should the threats persist.

Similarly, the state prosecutor informed court that there are other suspects in the case who have not yet been arrested and asked the court to give a further mention date to allow police arrests and supply the defense with witness statements in the case.

The case will be mentioned on October 1, 2024.
