Businessmen Caught Up In Multi-Million Inheritance War

Lucy Wanjiru was further charged with making a fake title deed purting it to be genuine and issued by the land registrar.

Two suspects have been entangled into a nasty fight over the estate of late Joseph Kimani Kibui.

According to the charge sheet, Lucy Wanjiru Njoroge and Zakariah Maina Ndibaru on diverse dates between August 12, 1977 and April 15, 2015, conspired to defraud the estate of late Kibui a land located in Ongata Rongai valued Ksh 14 million.

Lucy Wanjiru was further charged with making a fake title deed.

The defense counsel pleaded with the court to release them on a very lenient bond terms stating that they were not flight risk.

The prosecution on the other hand did not object to their release on bond but requested the court to issue a bond commensurate to the money involved in the fraud.

Chief Magistrate Micheni Wendi of Milimani Law courts released Lucy Wanjiru Njoroge on a bond of Ksh 2 million with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 1 million.

Zakariah Maina Ndibaru who faced only one count was released on a bond of Ksh 500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000.
