Cant Get To Kasarani? Here’s Where To Watch The Kenya vs Zambia Game

City Hall and the Ministry of Sports have announced a network of fan parks across Nairobi to ensure supporters catch every moment of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, which enters a decisive stage this weekend.

Governor Johnson Sakaja confirmed that the capital will host several public viewing arenas beginning on Sunday, when Kenya’s Harambee Stars meet Zambia in a crucial group stage encounter. One such zone, at the National Archives in the city centre, is already operational. With space for around 500 fans, it will remain open for the entirety of the tournament, offering free access and live screenings.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has also moved to ease congestion at Kasarani Stadium by designating six official fan zones across the city. Supporters without tickets will be able to follow the action on giant screens at Uhuru Park, Dandora Stadium, Jacaranda Grounds, Utalii’s Stima Club, Pand Pieri Grounds in Githurai, and DC Grounds in Kibera. A seventh site will operate behind Kasarani Stadium itself.

The initiative is part of a joint effort to both broaden access to the tournament and maintain crowd safety, with CHAN matches drawing record interest in the capital. Officials hope the decentralised viewing points will reduce pressure on matchday transport and prevent bottlenecks around Kasarani.

Sakaja said the project was about “bringing the game closer to the people” and ensuring Nairobians could unite behind the national team regardless of ticket availability. FKF added that the fan zones were designed to mirror stadium atmospheres, with vendors, entertainment, and security on site.

Kenya’s clash with Zambia is expected to be a sell-out, with fans urged to arrive early at viewing sites as the city braces for a weekend of football fever.
