What was meant to be a day of celebration turned tragic in Liverpool as a car plowed into a crowd of jubilant fans during the English Premier League title parade, leaving several injured and sending shockwaves through the festive city.
Thousands of Liverpool supporters had gathered in the city centre to mark the club’s historic league triumph when chaos erupted.
According to Merseyside Police, a vehicle struck multiple pedestrians before coming to a stop. The male driver has since been detained, and the incident is being treated as a “major incident.”

Eyewitness accounts describe a horrific scene. Natasha Rinaldi, speaking to Sky News, said she heard desperate screams and saw people running after the car.

“We saw people trying to break the car’s windows. The police rushed in quickly to calm things down,” she recalled. “Some of my friends were nearly hit—it was terrifying.”
Footage from the scene showed emergency crews tending to the injured while shattered glass, flags, and discarded banners lay scattered across the road.
The Northwest Ambulance Service said it was coordinating with other emergency teams to prioritize medical attention for the injured.
“Our primary concern is ensuring all victims receive swift medical support,” the service stated.
