Cardi becomes the first female rapper to achieve a diamond single award that means Bodak Yellow has moved 10 million units, according to RIAA one equivalent song unit is equal to a single digital song sale.
Cardi reached the milestone this week and her other hit song WAP featuring Megan is almost there with its 5x multi-platinum status.
Through a video on her Instagram she went on to explain how her label Atlantic Records surprised her with a plaque while she was having lunch at a restaurant after a long exhausting day of practice and rehearsal. “I just want to say thank you guys, it wouldn’t have happened, it really made my day and it really uplifted me.”
On twitter one user went on claiming that Kodak Black didn’t get the credits he deserves for the song but to answer the fan she said , “ he got credit on the song we both getting rich until we die the song is called bodak yellow for a reason.
