On Wednesday carol Radull accused heroes of council CEO Yvonne Khamati of not fulfilling her promises to help veteran boxer Conjestina Achieng four months after she took over the mantle of the government agency.
On a post on social media she noted that the council had promised to cater for her rehab expenses and a role for her upon her release.
“The heroes’ council has taken me in circles since August with the CEO saying it was difficult for her to follow up matters because she was/in Nigeria and the time difference made it difficult.” she said.
Radulll also said that Congestina was moved from a rehabilitation center in Eldoret to one in Thika with the help of NACADA and the heroes’ council did not chip in to assist the veteran boxer
“The Heroes council has made promise after promise. They have been reportedly been seeking audience with sports CS and PS in vain.
Radull also stated that Congestina was released from Thika and was staying at her sister’s place in Nairobi
“We are considering taking her back to Yala. Which is not a conducive environment for a recovering addict who is idle I fear she will relapse very quickly said Radull
She also added that the help promised by the Heroes council was not imminent and that she was looking for other options
“I am at a loss because Conjestina is now out still facing the same challenges as she did before. Had the Heroes council laced me along for 3 months I would have tried finding other solutions
Yvonne was appointed CEO by Amina Mohammed to identify and reward heroes and heroines of today. In an interview she said that she would look into Conjestina’s predicament and give her the help that she needs.
