Fugitive police officer Caroline Kangogo on Thursday night, July 15, shot herself dead at her parent’s home in Nyawa village Elgeyo Marakwet, police say.
Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya confirmed the officer’s demise on Friday, July 16.
According to sources privy to the scene, the late corporal was found with a pistol in hand, while were shoes were muddied.
Kangogo was wanted for allegedly killing two men in a period of 24 hours.
Her parents, Barnaba Kipkoech Korir and Leah Jepkosgei Kangogo, had pleaded with Kangogo to surrender to the authorities and highlight her role in the murder of the two men.
Prior to her death, Caroline reportedly pleaded with detectives not to keep her in a police cell, in fear of an extrajudicial execution.
