Catholics Bishops in Kenya have warned the Government against misuse of Covid 19 donations -By Enock Mukoma
In a statement read by the Vice Chairman of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops(KCCB) Bishop John Oballa, they warned reports of embezzlement of the funds are disturbing.
Oballa said the Covid support must be extended to faith based health centres in report parts if Kenya such as Marsabit, Lodwar, Mandera. The Catholic Church urged President Kenyatta to punish those who plunder the resources.
KCCB urged the Government to tackle the flooding menace that has caused death and destruction countrywide.
Oballa said the Government must mitigate the flooding, which he regrets has claimed more than 30 lives including Police officers.
He said the Government should in future forestall natural disasters, rather than wait to analyse the effects.
West Pokot, Baringo, Kitui and parts of Machakos have been hardest hit.
