Five Cops In Prisoner’s Murder Freed On Bail

Khalif Abdulahi Sigat, James Muli Koti, Joseph Odhiambo Sirawa, Edward Kongo Onchonga, and Nelson Nkanae, the cops charged with murder, pleaded not guilty. 

Five police officers accused of murdering a suspect at Mombasa’s Changamwe Police Station have been granted bail of 800,000 shillings each. 

Justice Justus Bwo’Onwong’a issued the said ruling on Tuesday, November 1,2022.

The officials are also required to report to the IPOA offices every two weeks. 

Khalif Abdulahi Sigat, James Muli Koti, Joseph Odhiambo Sirawa, Edward Kongo Onchonga, and Nelson Nkanae, the cops charged with murder, pleaded not guilty. 

They are linked to the death of Caleb Otieno at Mombasa’s Changamwe Police Station. 

On September 18, 2018, Otieno was detained on suspicion of having illegal alcohol – Changáa – and died hours later at Mikindani.
