Mr. Gideon Kibunja, MBS, OGW, who has been heading the DCI academy in South C, Nairobi has on Wednesday May 11, 2022, taken over office as the new Director of Personnel at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Kibunja succeeds Dr. Mwangi Wanderi, OGW, who has been deployed to Kenya Railways as the head of investigation.
Mr. Kibunja, a long-serving senior detective, took over the mantle in a brief handover ceremony attended by members of staff from the Directorates of Personnel and Training, where he worked until his current posting.
He has previously held senior positions such as Commandant DCI Academy, Director, School of Leadership at the National Police College main campus–Kiganjo, and Rift Valley Regional Criminal Investigations Officer.
While announcing the changes last Friday, Director General George Kinoti expressed confidence that the senior officers would continue to fulfill DCI’s mandate in their new stations, adding that deployments and redeployments were a healthy human resource function in any progressive institution.
