Chantou Kwamboka, a Kenyan model, was crowned Miss World Kenya 2022/23 on Saturday.
Following the victory, Kwamboka received Sh250, 000 and Sh500, 000 in grooming services. She was the first runner-up in the 2021 Miss World Kenya pageant prior to her victory.
She has succeeded Sharon Obara, the most recent Miss World Kenya winner. The Miss World Kenya Gala was hosted by Kiss FM presenter Oga Obinna and KTN’s Claudia Naisabwa at Nairobi’s Two Rivers Mall.
Ababu Namwamba, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports, and the Arts, was the chief guest at the 2022 Miss World Kenya gala.
This year, 17 women competed in the Miss World Kenya 2022 pageant.
More than 1,000 women from across Kenya applied for the competition in the hopes of succeeding outgoing Miss World Kenya Sharon Obara.
Last year, Obara won Sh250,000 after defeating 15 other contestants to replace Maria Wavinya, the 2019 Miss World Kenya.
