Chelsea Crowned Super Cup Champions

Chelsea has won the UEFA Super Cup 2021 after defeating Villarreal 6-5 in penalty shootouts.

After a hard-fought victory over a strong Villarreal side at Windsor Park in Belfast, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea won their second trophy in 2021.

In penalty shootouts, Kepa becomes Chelsea’s hero:

After becoming Chelsea’s hero in today’s Super Cup finals versus Villarreal, Kepa Arizaballaga has finally redeemed his £73 million transfer fee.

Thomas Kepa is an absolute genius, and his decision to incorporate him in the game paid off handsomely.

Chelsea’s offensive died as soon as Hakim Ziyech left the field:

In the first half, Hakim Ziyech was perhaps Chelsea’s greatest player, creating four goal-scoring possibilities.

Villarreal grabbed control of the game when he was withdrawn due to injury, and Chelsea was fortunate to come out on top.

After Ngolo Kante departed the field, Villarreal dominated the second half:

Chelsea struggled to dominate the midfield in the second half, and midfielders appeared sharper than earlier in the game.

Chelsea only came back into the game during the extra time and created some good chances as well.

Villarreal dominated the second half after Ngolo Kante was substituted for Jorginho and came close to levelling the scoreline on many occasions.

However, they did score the equalizer and could have scored the winner if not for Chalobah.

Ngolo Kante substitution was a gamble and could have cost Chelsea, hope Thomas Tuchel learnt his lessons.
