Cherargei: I Lost My Side Mirror To Nairobi Thugs

Nandi senator Samson Cherargei has narrated an encounter with city thugs that have been terrorising Nairobi residents.

In a tweet on Tuesday, November 15, he explained how being stuck in traffic cost him the side mirror of his vehicle.

“A fortnight ago I lost left- side mirror of my car while stuck on traffic along Valley Road being removed forcefully by a thug. Nairobi is now a crime city & a gang’s haven. The security lapse across the nation must be addressed immediately by the re-organisation of the security sector,” Cherargei said.

On Tuesday, November 15, Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome appointed Adamson Bungei as the Nairobi county police commander in an effort to quell the city’s growing insecurity.

Bungei, the immediate Baringo county police commander, takes over from Manase Musyoka, who was yet to take office following the changes made by the then-acting IG Nur Gabow in recent weeks.

The Nairobi police chief is now in charge of dealing with the city’s rising crime, which has sparked public outrage.
