Chief Justice David Maraga vows to boycott national day celebrations over mistreatment

Chief Justice David Maraga has vowed to boycott national day celebrations over alleged mistreatment.

In a tweet doing rounds in social media, Maraga said he was mistreated during the recent Mashujaa Day celebrations in Mombasa and said enough was enough.

The unconfirmed tweet says he was forced to walk off a dusty pavement and his presence was not recognized by the MC

Maraga has also complained about the recent judiciary budget cut revealing a scheme by unnamed cabinet secretaries and Principal Secretaries to end his tenure by the end of this year.

“I am not serving at the pleasure of any CS or PS. we do not go out to look for cases, cases come to us. I will not go to look for public funds from anybody,” Maraga is quoted saying.
