Lu Ke used to make the kids sing racist statements about themselves in Chinese words they didn't understand in his videos.

The Malawi government has detained a Chinese videographer who is wanted for capturing children performing racist slogans.

The suspect, Lu Ke, was being tracked down on charges of bigotry and child trafficking after being featured in a BBC expose.

On Monday, he was apprehended by Malawian authorities in Zambia.

Malawi immigration spokesman Pasqually Zulu, confirming his arrest, said the suspect was attempting to flee through uncharted routes.

“He was arrested in Chipata, Zambia after fleeing the country through uncharted routes,” Zulu said speaking to AFP.

Lu Ke used to make the kids sing racist statements about themselves in Chinese words they didn’t understand in his videos.

He then went on to sell the films on Chinese social media sites.

A group of toddlers were seen uttering a Chinese chant that translated to “I’m a black monster with a low IQ” in one video that caused outrage.

Spokesman Zulu now says that Malawi is liaising with the Chinese government to have Lu Ke be detained abit longer to allow authorities complete investigations.

On his part, Chinese diplomat Wu Peng maintained that his country does not condone any discrimination against other nationalities and will continue cracking down individuals like Lu Ke and make sure they are brought to book.

“China has been cracking down on those unlawful online acts in the past yrs. We’ll continue to crack down on such racial discrimination videos in the future,” he wrote on his Twitter.
