Chief Justice Martha Koome on Monday, 13,October, 2025 presided over the swearing in ceremony of several key government officials at the Supreme Court, urging them to uphold integrity and constitutional values in their new roles.
Those sworn in included Ms. Claris Awuor Ogangah, appointed as Chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), Mr. John Cox Lorionokou and Ms. Agatha W. Wahome, as Registrar and Assistant Registrar of Political Parties respectively and Mr. Billy Komintai Konchellah, who joins the National Heroes Council as a member.
Administered by Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Winfridah Mokaya, the oaths marked the official start of their duties in public service.
In her address, Chief Justice Koome reminded the appointees that the oath they had taken binds them “not only in law but in conscience,” describing public office as a sacred trust.
“Through the oath you have taken, you have pledged to serve the nation with fidelity, impartiality and integrity, and to uphold the values and principles of our Constitution,” she said. “Public service must always be guided by honesty, diligence and respect for the Constitution.”
The ceremony was attended by Principal Administrative Secretary in the Office of the President Arthur Osiya, Heroes Council Chairperson Hon. Jimmy Angwenyi and other senior officials.
CJ Koome emphasized that the Judiciary and other state institutions must continue working together to strengthen constitutionalism and protect the rights of all Kenyans.
