A convicted terrorist was sentenced to 100 years in prison for terrorism-related offenses.
Isiolo Chief Magistrate Lucy Mutahi convicted Osman Lado Gale on 12 charges of terrorism.
Mutahi found Gale guilty of terrorism-related offenses such as being a member of a terrorist group, possessing a mobile phone containing terrorism articles, planning to commit a terrorism act, offering training and recruitment of terrorist group members, and soliciting and providing support to terrorist groups.
The magistrate observed in her decision that the prosecution had proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused was a member of the illegal militia organization, and that evidence presented in court revealed that he was participating in the group’s horrific acts.
“You are hereby sentenced as follows: for count one, 15 years; for count two, 30 years; for counts 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 15 years; for counts 10 and 11, 25 years; and for count 12, 15 years,” Mutahi concluded.
