Five people were arrested early Sunday for allegedly stealing supplies from the Nairobi Express Way construction site on Mombasa Road.
One of the perpetrators is a police officer who is accused of leading the four civilians to the construction site where they were discovered stealing goods.
According to the police Thomas Odire Musasa, an officer attached to the Criminal Investigation Patrol Unit (CIPU) led Andrew Kones Ntikiya a guard at the site, Ephantus Mwangi owner of the vehicle ferrying the stolen goods, Samuel Kariuki Samuel Mutembei to the construction site where they were caught stealing pipes worth Ksh275, 200.
“The property of Cale Constructions Company was recovered and retained as exhibits,” the police said.
The Police said that the suspects were apprehended by Peter Langat of the CIPU division who was in patrol along the expressway at around 4 am while loading pipes into the pickup.
