Coronavirus Cases decline as Kenya death toll rises to 1,644

In the last 24 hours, a total of 114 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 2,507. – By Gerald Gekara.

This is a huge step down from the same day last month, where Kenya had an upsurge of over 700 faces per day.

So far, out of 1,011,025 samples tested, 94,614 cases have returned positive.

From the cases 100 are Kenyans while 14 are foreigners

In terms of Counties Nairobi recorded the most cases with (68), Kiambu (6), Machakos (5), Mombasa (4), Busia (4), Nyeri (4), Kajiado (4), Bungoma (2), Meru (2), Kisumu (2), while Garissa, Kisii, Nakuru, Marsabit, Uasin Gishu, Kilifi, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Kericho, Vihiga, Taita Taveta, Isiolo and Embu had one case each.

The ministry of health has so far confirmed that 325 patients have recovered from the disease over the same period. A total of 256 recovered from the Home-Based Care Program, while 69 have been discharged from various hospitals.

The total recoveries now stand at 76,060. However, 5 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the cumulative fatalities to 1,644.
