A man, who allegedly conned a lady Ksh 100,000 in Nairobi CBD was today arraigned in court. However, while being released on bail, he claimed he had already paid part of the bail to a police officer. – By John Mutiso.
Eusevious Karugu Nganatha, who had been detained at the Parliament Police Station appeared before Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Martha Mutuku where he pleaded not guilty.
 Karugu was charged that on 5th December, 2019, at Nairobi CBD within Nairobi County ,with intent to defraud, obtained Ksh 100,000 from Agnes Nyawira Mwaniki by pretending that he would introduce her to the business of supplying building materials.
Karugu was to be released on a bond of Ksh 100,000 but he claimed that he gave out Ksh 50,000 cash bail to the OCS but the court received Ksh 30,000 receipt cash bail.
Due to this, Magistrate Martha Mutuku asked the lawyer to Karugu, Mr. Nyamwewa, to make a follow up for it is not the duty of the court. The accused was then released on Ksh 50,000 bond.
