A 19-year-old man accused of unlawfully entering Parliament buildings has been released on condition that he does not repeat the offence within one year.

Nelson Ibrahim Kidero, alias Nelson Murithi, was charged with unlawfully entering the parliamentary precincts contrary to Section 31(1)(a) as read with Section 31(2) of the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Act, 2017.

The court heard that on the night of August 7, 2025, Kidero was found within the parking area of Bunge Towers without lawful authority.

He appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi, where he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Ekhubi released him to the custody of his uncle, Kelvin Chege, who was directed to ensure that Kidero receives medical attention and proper guidance.

“I’m releasing you to your uncle today, but on condition that you do not commit any other offence. Mr. Chege, do not let him out of your sight,” ruled the magistrate.

The court further cautioned Kidero against returning to Parliament premises and advised him to focus on personal development. He stated to the court that his dream is to become a barista.

Efforts to reach his family have been ongoing, with the court urging his father to show more concern for his son’s welfare.

On September 25, 2025, Kidero told the court that he was the son of President William Ruto and that he helped Ruto to be president.

“My mother is called Angeline Muriithi, so actually, there was a mistake. William Samoei Ruto is my father; I helped him to become the president, and my mother is Angeline Muriithi and he is supposed to be my father, so I think there is a mistake going on in Parliament [sic],” Kidero stated in court.

The court informed Kidero’s family to take him hospital for medical care and they should pay more attention on the son.

“Since this young man was brought before the court, efforts have been made to contact his family. Please tell his father to show more concern for his son,” Magistrate added.
