The High Court at Kibera Law Courts has granted detectives a 10-day custodial order to detain a key suspect in the ongoing investigation into the death of Nairobi Director Dr. Job Obwaka.
According to court documents, the application filed by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, sought additional time to complete investigations, including a post-mortem examination considered critical to establishing the cause of death.
The respondent, identified as Beatrice Wangari, is being held as investigators piece together the circumstances surrounding Dr. Obwaka’s final movements.
The court heard that the deceased had travelled from Nairobi to Kitengela on May 1, 2026, where he visited the suspect at her residence.
It is alleged that earlier that day, Dr. Obwaka had parked his vehicle at OBC Mall in Kitengela before being picked up by the respondent and driven to her residence in the Milimani area.
Investigators told the court that more time was required to finalize forensic processes, particularly the post-mortem and to consolidate evidence in what is being treated as a murder inquiry.
The court allowed the application, granting the detectives 10 days to hold the suspect in custody as investigations continue.
The matter remains under active investigation.
