The Kimwarer and Arror corruption case against former Treasury CS Henry Rotich will now be tried by a different magistrate.

This is due to Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi’s promotion to judge last week.

“Given that it’s a relatively fresh hearing, I think it’ll be sensible to move it to another magistrate,” he said.

He stated that if it had been the last witness, he could have concluded the case and wrote a decision.

“The trial court has been promoted because two witnesses have testified and it is not convenient for the court to hear the case since there are many additional witnesses who have still to testify,” Mugambi explained.

The case will be mentioned on December 16 for further directions as to the hearing of this case.
