The High Court in Makadara has given the DPP up to April 7, 2025, to subject the first suspect in the murder of Campbell Scott to a mental assessment before being arraigned in court to answer for the charges.
Alex Mutua Kithuka, who is one of the primary suspects in the murder of the British businessman, is expected to be taken to a mental hospital to determine his suitability to stand for the murder trial.
Alex appeared before Makadara High Court Judge, Justice James Wakiaga today where he was expected to answer for the charges of murder.
However, the court ordered the prosecution to take him to a mental assessment as it has always been the procedure for murder suspects and other serious offences suspects.
Alex is believed to be the occupant of a rented house in Pipeline area in Nairobi where Scott is said to have been lured and killed before his body was transported and dumped in Makongo forest in Makueni County.
The suspect will remain in police custody until April 7, 2025, when he will take plea over the alleged murder charges.
