Court Postpones Murder Suspect Sentencing

The Milimani lawcourt has delayed sentencing a suspect charged with the shooting of Ranalo Foods owner William Osewe.

Tom Oywa Mboya was found guilty of attempted murder against one Kosewe in an altercation over debt.

The accused businessman was due for sentencing, but the probation report was allegedly not ready.

The accused testified in court that on that fatal day, he fired two shots into the air and one at Osewe’s right hand, which was clutching a handgun, in order to intimidate him. The complainant was shot three times, according to the police report.

He also told the court that he saw Mr. Osewe storm out of his car and start shouting at him as he was exiting The Hagon Hotel off Thika Road.

According to a police report obtained by Uzalendo News, the complainant approached the suspect on a material day with the purpose of speaking with him about a debt he owed the suspect.

The suspect said he had been threatened by the complainant and had reported him to the police.

He will be sentenced on October 6th 2021.
