The High Court has declined a request by Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi to stop the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) from investigating him over suspected corruption.

Wamatangi is being probed over the awarding of tender contracts; specifically ERP system tenders; allegedly given to companies linked to him by three government agencies: KeNHA, KURA, and KeRRA.

He had asked the court to stop any summons, arrest, or prosecution, saying the investigations were unconstitutional and based on false claims. He denied owning or being involved in any of the five companies under investigation, despite the EACC using this as a basis to freeze their bank accounts.

The court, however, told him to serve the relevant authorities with court documents and set July 24, 2025, for further directions.

Wamatangi claims the EACC acted illegally by restricting access to bank accounts before investigations were complete, and says the commission is now harassing him and his associates with new investigations based on separate claims.
