The Milimani Law Courts have sentenced Peter Gathungu Gikonyo after he was convicted of theft by agent.
The matter was heard before Chief Magistrate Dolphina Alego. Court documents show that Gikonyo, while serving as an agent of Kaggs Investment Limited, stole Ksh4,390,560 between June 29 and September 1, 2020. The funds had been entrusted to him for safe custody.
Records presented in court also referenced a total of Ksh6,133,900 based on audit and agreement figures.

The prosecution was led by State Prosecutor James Murage, while the complainant was represented by lawyer Justus Kiunga.
Gikonyo was convicted on two counts under Section 268(1) as read with Section 283(c) of the Penal Code.
The court sentenced him to 24 months’ imprisonment or a fine of Ksh2 million on Count I and 12 months’ imprisonment or a fine of Ksh800,000 on Count II.
