Milimani Court has suspended a warrant of arrest issued against Nandi senator Samson Cherargei.
The senator’s bond terms were reinstated by Milimani Chief magistrate Wendy Michemi.
The magistrate, on the other hand, ordered Cherargei to appear in person in court and apologize to the court, after which his arrest warrant will be lifted.
As he was reportedly admitted, the decision was made in his absence.
Cherargei was arrested last Friday for failing to appear in court on April 19, 2022, claiming he was ill.
The Senator is accused of making incendiary remarks in this case.
Cherargei arrest comes days after he secured the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket to defend his seat in the August 9 general elections.
While the reason behind his arrest is a matter of speculation at this particular point in time, Hon Cherargei has been battling a number of cases in court with the latest one coming a few days ago when he had been charged at a Nairobi court over his hate speech claims.
