COVID-19: Kenya confirms 92 new cases, as three more die

A total of 92 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 from 2,985 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This raises the total number of confirmed cases to 36,393.

While addressing the media, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi confirmed the youngest case being only two years old and the oldest 75.

In terms of gender, 64 of the cases were males, while 28 were females

Nairobi continued to lead with (25) cases, Mombasa (20), Nakuru (8), Garissa (7), Uasin Gishu (6), Kisumu (5), Turkana (4), Kiambu (4), Kakamega (3), Machakos (2), Kajiado (2), Busia (2), while Nyeri, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, and Tana River each had (1) case.

However, 165 people recovered from coronavirus. According to the ministry, 60 of them were from the Home Based Care program while 105 discharged from hospitals, totaling to 23,529 recovered patients.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs CAS Ababu Namwamba welcomed the donations and indicated that the equipment would go along way in the fight against covid-19.

“We also thank our Qatar friend for extending support to Kenyan nationals living in Qatar at the height of this pandemic. Qatar was able to provide food donations to Kenyans in distress in Qatar. Up to 2,000 food packages were received by our embassy in Qatar and distributed to Kenyan nationals,” Namwanda stated.
