COVID-19: Kenya records 73 new recoveries in new test results

Kenya has confirmed a significant drop in cases witnessed in the last 24 hours, with 59 more people testing positive for COVID-19 in Kenya – By Gerald Gekara.

This raises Kenya’s tally to 4,797. Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi reaffirmed Kenyans on the need to protect themselves.

In the latest figures, Nairobi led with (28), Mombasa (21), Kilifi (3), Kiambu (2), while Machakos, Kisii, Bungoma and Webuye reported only 1 case each.

Nairobi cases are from; Dagoretti North (7), Kibra (5), Embakasi East (4), Embakasi North and Westlands (3), while Embakasi West and Central each recorded 3 cases. Roysambu and Makadara have one case each.

Of the new cases, CAS Mwangangi stated that 47 of the new cases were male and 12 are female.

The new cases were recorded from 2,354 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours. This raises Kenya’s total cumulative sample tests to 142,366.

73 more people have also been discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,682, while two more died from the virus.

Kenya’s death toll now stands at 125.
