Covid-19 mars Ndingi’s final bow

Archbishop Ndingi Mwanaa Nzeki was buried at his former religious stomping ground at the iconic Holy Family Basilica Yesterday.
His requiem Holy Mass was led by Bishop Maurice Muhatia of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru.


Muhatia was among the many priests ordained by the late Ndingi during his long stint as Bishop of Nakuru Diocese.


Several relatives wept openly as the Shepherd of God was eulogized by his peers led by the Chairman of KCCB Archbishop Phillip Anyolo, Nyeri Archbishop Anthony Muheria among others.


The main celebrant was John Cardinal Njue, the Archbishop of Nairobi and the head of the Catholic Church in Kenya.
Ndingi was born in Mwala, Machakos Diocese in 1931. He was appointed the first Bishop of Machakos Diocese in 1969.


Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, only 100 people attended his funeral. Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was among the politicians in attendance.
