COVID Variant Infiltrates British Army Base in Nanyuki

Senior generals at the British Army Base in Nanyuki have directed heightened COVID-19 measures after infiltration of the lethal UK strain in the camp. – By Gerald Gekara.

United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence confirmed that all the soldiers had been tested 92 hours before their flights to Kenya.

Reports indicate that four British troops tested positive for the Covid-19 strain shortly after arriving at the camp.

So far, 320 military personnel have been placed under isolation.

Furthermore, the BATUK camp has been put under emergency access, restricting non authorized personnel within its vast camp.

“The British Army takes the health and wellbeing of personnel and the local community in Kenya very seriously. The Ministry of Defence’s Force Health Protection measures are being applied to prevent further infections,” stated the spokesperson.
