The Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport Hotel has been crowned the best luxury airport Hotel in Africa at the just-announced 2022 World Luxury Hotel Awards.
The hotel, which sits adjacent to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, beat 643 hotels across the continent for the accolade.
The Hotel’s General Manager Barnabas Wamoto says the accolade is a key recognition for Kenya’s thriving hospitality sector.
“Considering the rating and votes are based on our guests and industry players personal experiences at our facility, this award further recognizes Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport efforts to provide a unique luxury Kenyan Airport hotel experience to our local and international guests. I applaud our fantastic team at Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport for this fantastic achievement,” Wamoto said.
Annually, the awards honor international luxury hotels based on votes cast by guests, travelers, and hotel industry stakeholders. Every year, over 300,000 guests vote in a four-week period before the winners are chosen.
Hotels can enter the awards by submitting applications in various categories that highlight their unique selling points and destinations.
There were over 100 categories to choose from, including Global Hotel of the Year, Luxury Cultural Hotel, Luxury Conference & Event Hotel, and Luxury Destination Hotel, all of which recognized Global, Continent, Regional, and Country Luxury Accommodation.
