Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua has announced over 1000 promising job opportunities in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
“A UAE-based company is set to interview motorcycle riders in Nairobi and Malindi next week, offering 600 positions. Candidates will earn 7.5 dirhams per delivery trip, potentially bringing in over 104,000 Kenyan shillings monthly. The company provides free accommodation, a work motorcycle, medical care, and a four-month training period in Dubai for successful applicants.”
To qualify for the rider roles, candidates must hold a Kenyan passport, possess a rider’s license, and obtain a certificate of good conduct. Experience is not mandatory but favored, especially for bodaboda riders.
The financial requirement for applicants is estimated at Kshs. 167,900, covering pre-arrival fees, which can be financed through loans offered by local banks. Interview sessions will take place in Nairobi from December 9-11 and in Malindi on December 13-14, with ministry officials ensuring ethical recruitment practices.
In parallel, a Saudi Arabian Human Resource team is seeking to hire 500 nannies. Interested candidates, exclusively female, must have at least one year of child-caring experience and various educational qualifications.
The salary for the nanny positions ranges between 1,200 to 1,500 riyals (approximately Kshs. 41,000 to 52,000 per month), with free accommodation, meals, and transport provided. The only financial requirement for these positions is a medical fee of Kshs. 13,500, as the company will cover all other pre-arrival expenses.
These recruitment drives come as the Kenyan government intensifies efforts to connect citizens with overseas employment opportunities, showing a commitment to easing economic hardships at home.
