CS Chirchir: Africa Has Immense Potential As Clean Energy Hub

In Nairobi, Kenya, at the Africa Energy Forum, CS Davis Chirchir welcomed H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, who is the COP28_UAE President-Designate and Special Envoy for Climate Change.

They discussed the need for inexpensive, accessible, and available climate change financing to help African nations realise their potential for sustainable energy.

Both acknowledged that Africa has the potential to become a global leader in renewable energy and a key engine for sustainable development.

The CS called on the COP28_UAE President-Designate to champion political goodwill to realize this, to which the President-designate agreed that Africa’s potential as a clean energy giant is massive and developing it will require political goodwill, but also importantly visionary ambition and adequate, available, accessible, and affordable capital.
