Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday, May 17, visited National Police Reservist Stephen Murijo at Nanyuki Cottage Hospital where he is receiving specialized medical care.
According to a statement by CS Kindiki, Murijo was critically injured by bandits early in the week during an operation by the multi-agency security team pursuing armed criminals who had stolen 75 heads of cattle from Enasoit Ranch that were all recovered.
Kindiki said the Government will foot his medical bills and support his journey to full recovery.
“The Government acknowledges and appreciates the pivotal role played by the National Police Reservists across the country in supplementing efforts by the National Police Service and Kenya Defence Forces to combat bandits and other armed criminals in the ongoing Maliza Uhalifu Operation,” Kindiki said.
According to Kindiki, the government will, through NHIF, provide medical cover for all NPR officers, and supply them with uniform and other necessary equipment to facilitate their service delivery.
