CS Kuria Vows To Keep Off Politics For The Next Four Months

After continued complaints that he was being kept out of key political events from senior government officials and Azimio politicians, Civil Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria announced on Monday that he embarked on a voluntary four-month silence.

Kuria swore that he would never contribute to political discourse until August 2024.

At that time, he explained that he would have a presser who he believed would change the political dynamics of the country.

“I will make a major announcement that will change the political future and landscape of Kenya on August 20, 2024, at 10am,” CS Kuria said.

Taking a vow of silence, he said: “Until then, I will not publish any political position or opinion on any issue.”

This was not the first time that Moses Kuria threatened to remain silent after facing political frustrations.

After a dismal performance in the August 2022 Kiambu gubernatorial contest, Kuria said he would no longer engage Kenyans on social media.

This vow lasted only a week as he took to criticizing the opposition for its reluctance to recognize William Ruto as the duly elected President of the Republic of Kenya.

Kuria’s latest frustration comes from what he perceives as resentment on the part of the national government and his country’s leaders.

The CS had earlier complained about why President William Ruto continued to invite Kiambu leaders to State House without his knowledge.

He noted that any discussion regarding Kiambu should not take place without his presence, as he was the most senior politician in the region, through his cabinet position.

Kuria also showed his frustration with former MPs Jeremiah Kioni and Martha Karua organizing high-level political meetings, including the Limuru 3 rally, without inviting him.
