CS Murkomen Ready to Prove Innocence in Abduction Case— Court Told

The cabinet secretary for interior, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen through his advocate Danstan Omari has told Justice Bahati Mwamuye that his office is prepared to present their case before the court to prove that he was baselessly dragged in the alleged abduction petition.

Omari had earlier on pleaded with Justice Mwamuye to allow the petition to proceed today to avoid any image showing that CS Murkomen among other respondents in the case are not ready to offer explanation to Kenyans and prosecute the case to its logical conclusion.

According to Omari, the country needs answers as to the progress of the petition and the said progress was being held into abeyance by the petitioners for failing to comply with court orders.

“My lord allow the public to know our case, the petitioners have told the world their case, allow us to proceed so that the perception that the respondents have the petitioners in their custody can out conclusively.” Submitted advocate Omari.

Justice Bahati Mwamuye adjourned the case for hearing on February 14, 2025, at 9:00am and reserved the matter for a ruling on February 21, 2025, at 11:00am.

In the case the Law Society of Kenya and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) accused government agencies of orchestrating the alleged abductions.

The two organizations have strongly condemned the recent surge of abductions and called on the state to put an end to “the heinous trend which is a gross violation of fundamental rights and freedoms”
