CS Mvurya Breaks Ground for Ksh 55 Million Suba-South Sports Academy

Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts, Salim Mvurya, has officially broken ground for the construction of a Ksh.55 million Sports Academy in Suba-South Constituency. The project, aimed at nurturing sporting talent and boosting local economies, is expected to provide significant opportunities for the youth and the wider community.

Speaking during the event, CS Mvurya directed the contractor to prioritize hiring local residents, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in national development. “This project will not only elevate our youth into global sports platforms but also empower communities economically,” he said.

While commissioning National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) projects alongside Suba South MP, Kalori Omondi, Mvurya praised the legislator’s dedication to transformative development in the region. He also lauded the residents for their support of the government’s inclusive development agenda, urging continued unity and active participation.

In a pointed remark, the CS criticized the opposition, accusing them of pushing divisive agendas and urged locals to stay focused on progress.

Additionally, Mvurya announced that the Ksh.700 million Raila Odinga International Stadium, currently 90% complete, will be handed over in two weeks, just in time for the upcoming Madaraka Day celebrations.
