D’Angelo Russell To Undergo Surgery After Knee Injury

Minnesota Timberwolves guard D’Angelo Russell is set to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday to remove a loose body in his left knee. He is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks. – By Madellene Kalunda.

It’s another big blow to a struggling team that has dealt with injuries and illness this season.

Russell, who is the team’s third leading scorer is averaging 19.3 points and 5.1 assists in 20 games during his first full season in Minnesota.

The 24 year old had missed Minnesota’s previous three games due to a sore left leg. He last played on 8th February against the Mavericks,, where he played for only six minutes and scored six points.

His absence from the team comes a year after the team acquired him through trade with the Golden State Warriors.

The Timberwolves also said that Jarrett Culver, who sprained his ankle last month, has been cleared to resume on-court activities. He could play by late next week.
