Danish officials meet Machakos governor Mutua over better county health care

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua today received high ranking officials from the Royal Danish Embassy led by the Deputy Head of Mission Henrik Larsen, Chief Finance Officer, Ms. Tine Lunn, and Senior Financial Advisor (DANIDA) Peter Clausen.

The meeting which was held at the Machakos leader’s office in Mavoko was to discuss possible cooperation between the two institutions.

Among the key issues tackled, included the involvement of the Danish government in primary health care,

“In particular, Danish Government has extended invaluable support to Machakos primary health care which, coupled with other programs, has made Machakos arguably the best provider of public health services at all levels of healthcare across Kenya,” said Dr. Alfred Mutua.

Ways to streamline operations and deepen accountability in the management of Danida support to Machakos health centers and dispensaries were also deliberated with the two finally agreeing to ensure successful capacity building programs.

“In addition, we agreed on deeper cooperation in ensuring success of programs targeting under Danida funding as well as exploring new areas of partnership in capacity and institutional development.” concluded the governor.
