The Democratic Alliance Party Kenya, DAP-K has adviced Raila Odinga to retreat back to the drawing board on the forthcoming party primaries.
Democratic Party of Kenya deputy party leader Ayub Savula, in an interview with the star, said the Azimio movement should consider allowing parties to field candidates in other positions other than the presidency.
“Allowing political parties to openly field candidates is the wisest course of action. If every party is allowed to run candidates, they would campaign for Raila Odinga at the grassroots and deliver votes to him at the top.”
Savula said the recent happenings like in Homa Bay where three candidates are gunning for the top seat, will cause a massive fall out in favour of its rivals.
“If you undertake a combined nomination, there will be a positive impact for UDA. Someone will undoubtedly come out on top, while the other will come out on the losing end. The loser will be quite bitter, and as a result, some individuals may defect and go with their followers. We dont want that.”
