Liverpool Ready To Break Transfer Record Over Nunez

After the hype surrounding Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland’s signings ended even before the start of this year’s summer transfer window, Darwin Nunez is the striker in the eyes of numerous prominent teams across Europe.

Liverpool has become the latest club to enter the bidding for the poacher.

The Daily Mail’s Dominic King claims that the Merseyside Reds are willing to break their transfer record in order to get the Benfica striker.

After formally confirming on social media that he will leave his present agency Edgardo Lasalvia, Darwin Nunez’s transfer this summer will be mediated by Jorge Mendes.

Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Fabio Carvalho, and others are among the Liverpool players represented by Jorge Mendes.

Many worried what the future of Liverpool’s attack would be now that Sadio Mane is set to leave this summer, with Bayern Munich eager to replace Robert Lewandowski with the Senegalese striker.

Nunez, who can play on the left or in the centre, scored six goals in the Champions League last season, two of which came against Liverpool in the quarterfinals, and he made an impact on Jurgen Klopp.

If Liverpool can complete the purchase, it will be reminiscent of their response to losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, when they made huge investments in their squad to kick-start an era of success.
