David Ndii, a well-known economist, has been named Chairperson of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
On Friday, October 14, the outgoing Chief of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua, made the announcement.
According to an executive order signed by President William Ruto on Friday, David Ndii’s docket as the Chairperson of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors will be under the Office of the President.
Notably, David Ndii was closely involved in the Kenya Kwanza Coalition campaigns that propelled President Ruto to power.
He was a member of the think tank that developed the strategies and economic model on which President Ruto campaigned in August.
Former Treasury Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge has been named senior advisor and head of physical affairs and budget policy, while Augustine Cheruyoit has been named head of the economic transformation secretariat.
According to Kinyua, Dr Nancy Laibuni will be a member of the president’s Council of Economic Advisors.
Former Kajiado South MP Katoo Ole Metito, who was appointed State House Comptroller, is also on the list.
