Nominated MP Sankok Skips Court Hearing

Honorable David Ole Sankok, who was set to appear before court today in a case where he is a key prosecution witness.

The prosecution informed the court that it is in the public domain that the said MP is bereaved and therefore he would not travel to testify in court.

Hon Sankok was expected to give his version of evidence in a case where he was threatened by Raphael Kapaya Torome on May 3, 2019.

The said Torome being the driver to Sankok insulted him and maliciously damaged his walking scratch and refused to drive the car. 

According to the charge sheet Mr. Torome proceeded to send detrimental messages to Hon Sankok threatening to expose him if he does not comply with his demand for money.

The said Sankok complied with the accused person’s demand for money and later on approached police for justice.

The accused Torome has since denied the allegations before Milimani Law courts and is out on a Bond of Ksh 100,000.

The court allowed Prosecution’s application for adjournment to pave way for Sankok’s bereaved family. Case is slated on May 26, 2022 for hearing.
